With this special cable you can use a fan with 7V instead of 12V because the most fans doesn´t have an own control unit. The reduction conducts a lower running noise and reduces the loudness of the case. Furthemore you can check the speed of the fan. Through the reduced speed of a fan the air flow rate is also lower.
